Tonight's parents evening was a real eye opener, mind and came as a bit of a shock!
Her Lecturers and mentors praised her enthusiasm, hard work and willingness to finish her work as beautifully as she can. She likes to flourish her work with drawings and examples to a creative end - we seriously could not have been more proud of their praise. Surprised but very very proud. We may not get the piles of high fives, gushing moments of excessive achievement or letters from school highlighting how brilliant she is. Nor, on the same token, do we receive calls about truancy, bad behaviour or issues with performance either. Her current success is telling us that she is progressing really well.
In addition, on Tuesday, Ellie wanted to organise an event at college for tomorrow. She practically begged the SENCO to allow it to happen. He gave her the thumbs up and she set to work creating posters and excitement leading up to a Comic Relief fund raiser by way of "Who can eat a donut without licking their lips?" competition - involving both Lecturers and students. Of course muggings here, is footing the donut donation bill and Easter egg prize but to see the joy in her organisational skills far outweighs the cost ;)
So happy with our girl right now but then we were before and probably always will be - regardless of what she achieves in college.

Well done, Ellie. Hope you raise loads of money for Comic Relief today. When I put my donation in the bucket today I will think of you.
And well done Kirsty and Mark for bringing up a beautiful, well adjusted, considerate daughter. Please don't think I'm being *** what's the word***? about you, but I hope you are as proud of yourselves as you are of Ellie?

Really pleased for you ALL - enjoy!
High fives all round from this end.
What more could any parent want than a daughter to be proud of?

Well done Ellie for doing something for others.
If your child does it's best, that's all you can ask for and you should be very proud of that fact.
Too right Jude!!!!
I read this and had goosebumps on my goosebumps and tears in my eyes!
Ellie is one very special girl!
Well done!!!!
Good luck Ellie, I'm sure you will raise a lot of money today! xx
Reading you news today puts things into perspective - a worrying few days after parents evening, not knowing weather to upset everything & move my little boy to a different school - never an easy answer for a mum?? But what does it really matter as long as they are happy?? I know what will be will be. xx
BRILLIANT!! Good for Ellie and as Jude says, you and Mark should be really proud of both Ellie and yourselves.
Hugs, Di xx
Totally wonderful post to read before going off to bed Kirsty - Ellie is a credit to you and Mark and a credit to herself.
Jude is spot on with her words :)

That's just lovely to hear, well done Ellie:)
Brilliant Kirsty, you have every right to be proud! Hope Ellie enjoyed yesterday & raised lots! Carole Zxx
well done, congratulations on all your hard work...you go girl !!!
Wonderful news and whatever is being formally studied will be insignificant without this important development with her peers friends and tutors. Relationship in the widest sense is more important than anything else she might learn.
